In March 1999 a Christian radio program told of homeless children in Ethiopia, which ignighted a spark in Mrs. Barrington. The guest speaker recounted children's tales of often eating grass and insects to stay alive and told of clinics established to feed those children. This radio program raised her awareness as to the plight of the Ethiopian children in a way that photographs and television programs never had. She began to truly ponder the blessings God had bestowed upon her family and how He had opened the windows of heaven and poured out more than had been asked for or could have ever been imagined. It was then that she decided she had to do something to help.
In 2003 Bread & Soup Ministries visits Sandy Bay ST. Vincent. Our purpose was to distribute food, clothing, and toys for the chirldren. However, we also delivered a vacation bible Class which has become an annual event. Every year we return to Sandy Bay for VBS.
